I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was filled with fun and love and all the good things.
There was a drink I had in Florence, which is actually a Russian spin on a Brazilian drink, called a Caipiroska, that sort of reminded me of a strawberry slush at Sonic. How’s that for a sales-pitch?
A traditional Caipiroska is made with lime, sugar, vodka, and sometimes something fizzy. In Florence, though, we always had them made with muddled strawberries and it was always such a treat. It’s strawberries, muddled with lime and sugar, then topped off with vodka and club soda–this is refreshing and sweet and the colors are festive, so there’s that.
(I also think they would be great for New Year’s Eve!)
Here’s the recipe.
Strawberry Caipiroska
Ingredients
- 1/2 lime
- 5-6 strawberries
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ice
- 2 ounces vodka
- Club soda
Method
- Squeeze the lime juice into a glass and add the lime. Add the strawberries and sugar. Take a muddler and muddle the strawberries and limes well. Top with ice and add the vodka. Stir well. Top with club soda and serve with straws.
Enjoy!
