Wear: Birthday Weekend Packing List

Can I show you what I’m putting in my suitcase for my birthday weekend away in New York City this weekend?

Do you even care?  Probably not.  But!  I’m so very excited about two full days away with my guy and also I did a little birthday shopping and also, if you don’t care you can come back next week for tips on cooking the perfect fall soup, or something like that.

Deal?  Deal.

This weekend we’re going into the city for the perfect ending to birthday week (follow along over on Instagram with #seehatsiebirthdayweek!) and K has planned pretty much everything, which means all I have to do is show up.  What a guy!

I’m packing lots of black with cool pops of pattern here and there.  I’m packing layers, because it’s going to be cold.  I’m packing easy walking shoes and high pumps because, balance.  I’m packing some new jewels from my brother and sister in law and a couple of new items that I’ve had my eye on for a while.

Here’s what that looks like:

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Friday PM.  We’ll check into the hotel, grab a cocktail in the bar downstairs, and hit the town.  Wine colored skinny jeans, an unstructured blazer, and some print mixing with leopard and stripes because leopard is a neutral, will be the perfect outfit for a night walking around the city, popping into whatever establishment strikes our fancy.

Saturday AM.  Saturday will start with coffee, as most days do.  I’m going to take my new glasses prescription and check out Warby Parker, then we might spend the afternoon checking out a couple of museums.  Comfortable walking shoes are a must, and these Vans are as comfortable as they get.  (Also, check out that leather jacket!)

Saturday PM.  I actually can’t tell you anything about Saturday night, because I don’t know!  K has a plan.  I do know that it includes sushi, so, yum.  A LBD is pretty safe, though, and the scarf (and a trench) will keep me warm.

Sunday AM.  Casual Sundays are the best.  A comfy graphic tee, with a comfy plaid flannel shirt, with comfy jeans and comfy shoes will be all I need to soak up the last few moments in the city before settling in for a day of football and relaxation.

So, that’s the plan and that’s the packing list.  Gosh, I can’t wait.  Thanks for listening!
